The project illustrates our vision for
Social Housing in the history of Little
River. Little River is a lost community
located north of Miami. We reflected
on the idea of bringing back
Little River not only as a real state
opportunity but also to bring back
the cultural identity.
Little River was a ‘tent city’ settlement
for African American
and Caribbean communities.
Therefore, we decided to use the
concept of the “tent” as a filter to
connect our project back to the
the cultural identity of Little River.
We took some aspects of the tent
into our interpretation in terms of
its modularity, structural grid, the
the lightness of the structural elements
and the sense of community.
