About

Hi,

I’m Ekaterina Starikova, and I’m a multiscale Architectural Designer. My experience varies from Urban Planning to  Architecture and Interior Design, allowing me to implement an analytical component into all of my projects. I am a strong believer in research-based and data-driven design. It helps to see the big picture and to design from the inside out, connecting at every scale from macro to micro.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Moscow Architectural Institute and a Master’s Degree in Interior Architecture from UCLA Extension and Cal Poly Pomona. I am skilled at research and analysis, graphic presentation, and software proficiency (Revit, Adobe Creative Sute, Autocad, Rhino, Lumion, SketchUp, Archicad, Microsoft Office Suite, and MapInfo), developing documentation for all phases of design, including design strategies, concepts, and technical drawings; working in a team, and being a team leader.

As an urbanist and architectural designer for the past six years, I have worked on planning, design, and redevelopment projects of various scales. I truly believe that the environment we live in, from urban development to the chair we sit in, has the greatest impact on our productivity, quality of life, and the direction our society is moving in general, and that we, as designers, must always place human experience at the center of our design process, and consider the big picture in order to create a comfortable, forward-thinking living environment. I want to excel and grow as a professional and apply my knowledge and experience in practice.
