I am an outdoors enthusiast who is passionate about the environment and design. I love creating and experiencing the environments available to us as well as creating spaces for people to interact with. I spend much of my free time taking advantage of what nature has to offer, including biking, fishing, camping and more!

At the beginning of the year, I started this business with the mindset of helping others at the residential level build the landscapes of their dreams while implementing sustainable practices and products. Turfs Up is an all-inclusive design-build business started from the ground up by myself. In this role I have learned the ins and outs of what goes into a successful business from business development to the final product.

At Design West I was able to play a role in a multi-disciplinary firm as a landscape designer and construction document producer. While in this position I worked with architects and produced high-quality fly-throughs and graphics, planting plans, hardscape design, and more.

Through Dry Creek Landscape Design I was able to build a strong foundation in construction practices and client interaction. Much of my time here was spent managing a crew and overseeing the construction process. While working in this position I also met with clients and drew complete landscape plans.

The Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning prepares students and scholars for multiple levels of professional practice and scholarship. With strong skills in critical thinking, and theoretical training, LAEP actively engages and benefits local communities with multi-scale design projects and the transfer of knowledge and research into real-world landscape design improvement.

The Environmental Planning undergraduate degree prepares future professionals to recognize the reciprocal relationship between the biophysical attributes of a region and the human dimensions of settlement and culture.

USU’s landscape architecture program is the 13th oldest landscape architecture program in the United States and is accredited by the American Society of Landscape Architects.

Awards 

Intermountain Sustainability Conference, 1st Place

I won this award through a project on the revitalization of an urban lot with a focus on sustainable landscape practices and solutions to the urban heat island effect through plant materials. The secondary focus of this project was to implement safer pedestrian passage and comfort in an area typically desolate and precarious.
