The Invasive Plant Research Facility is a bioenergy research facility that is in Alfred, NY on Sugar Hill Road. The facility aims to turn invasive plant species like giant hogweed, garlic mustard, swallowort, etc. into biofuel which can be turned into bioenergy. Bioenergy is an innovative and renewable energy source that the community of Alfred can use. The building is a 2-story, 20,480 sq ft, falls under the B, F, and U occupancy type that will have structural steel framing along with curtain wall glazing on the face and an extensive green roof that will be home to native plant species-like milkweed, gerardia, goldenrod, and other native plant species
