As a passionate individual in the field of Architecture, my interests lie within the intersection of technology, sustainability and design. I aim to delve deep into the socio-economic construct governing the architectural principals and its application in the urban context and make use of technology to create environmentally responsible and culturally appropriate efficient designs. Through my academic career, I have been well equipped with knowledge about the construction industry as well as honing my software skills to create functional efficient designs. The bigger idea is to explore the field of architecture and become more cognizant of the ongoing practices and integrating those with sustainable design methods.
Groundwork Architecture, Ahmedabad, IN, Architectural Intern
Created construction drawings along with figuring out construction details and worked on cost optimization methods for major Institutional and High end residential projects. Made presentation drawings for the client and interacted with them to better understand their design needs. 3D modeled for the projects and then rendered them for the presentation drawings. Went on site visits to understand the spatial requirements of the design and worked on interior design proposals for the projects.
Monoceros InterArch Solutions, Ahmedabad, IN, Architectural Intern
Designed a club having amenities like residential huts, sports areas, game arenas, lounges and dining areas on the outskirts of a city in India. Created working drawings as well as presentation drawings for the client. Worked out construction details for the structure of the design. Also went on site visits to overlook execution of certain projects going on in the office and interacted with clients for maximum design efficiency.
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Los Angeles, CA, US, Masters, Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design
Studied in the technology studio under Ar. Guvenc Ozel. The brief of the studio was to take the existing Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco and repurpose it. In groups of 2, we designed an NFT auction house that retained the top portion of the existing tower but changed the design and structure of the remaining part of the building to house the auction and social spaces that interacted with the public better. The design was then also placed in the metaverse by designing a virtual reality where you could also interact with the spaces. The program equipped me with software skills as well enhancing my skills as a designer to approach problems like Sustainable design, energy and cost optimization, 3D visualization and technical skills. The program also facilitated me in becoming a more efficient designer by integrating technology with architecture in a way that introduced more efficient ways to approach novel design interventions.
Institute of Architecture and Planning, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, India, BArch, Bachelor of Architecture
During my bachelor's from Nirma university, I gained a plethora of architectural knowledge by working with a diverse portfolio of projects, starting from residential projects to cultural and institutional projects. I also participated in various architectural festivals and workshops and have hands on experience working with different materials like bamboo, brick, mud etc to design installations as well as furniture. I took electives which taught me different types of art styles, be it traditional Indian art or photo printing methods like Cyanotype.
