About

I am an architect, graduate of the School of Architecture, Patras University. From early on, I understood that architecture was a natural choice for me because it was the only field that addressed my interests in political and social science, art, and my natural talent in drawing, collectively. As a student first and a graduate later, I have participated in several architectural competitions where I have received several awards. Also, I had the chance to be part of the team representing Greece in the Architectural Biennale of Venice in 2016, presenting a proposal to help welcome, house, and gradually integrate immigrants and refugees in Mediterranean cities. I have also taken place in an exhibition along with architects and art students at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation in 2014. For two and a half years I had the honor to work at the architectural office of Nicos Valsamakis, a member of the Academy of Athens and pioneer of Greek Architecture.

The MS in Advanced Architectural Design at Cornell University addresses my interests entirely. Issues of theory and history of architecture, as well as the challenges of contemporaneity and cultural production and the manner in which they affect contemporary design methods and the pursuit of the architectural form have been at the center of my interests throughout my studies. In terms of my professional career long-term, I envision founding my own architectural firm, in the city I grew up, Athens in time. Equally important to me is to remain active in academia, which will ensure that my ideas remain relevant and contemporary.
