About

Licensed Architect with SACAP (full signatory of the Canberra Accord) in South Africa. This includes my M.Arch, 2 years of recorded hours and qualification exams. Currently in my 4th year working as a Project Architect for a specialized international property development firm in commercial architecture. This has given me unique expertise in not only the art of designing but also the balance of financial viability and market related saleability, creating an optimized dialogue where architecture, marketability and budget meet. I am a self-motivated, career-centric professional with a good work ethic and great people skills, able to work very well in a group or independently. I am an exceptionally fast learner with a flexible, adaptable and detailed approach to work. I embrace challenges and am constantly taking the initiative to achieve the best result, and working well under pressure. I have a burning motivation to create, learn and grow as a professional and am in the pursuit of the best innovation hub in which to foster my passion for this quintessential career.

Employment

FWJK - Johannesburg, Johannesburg, ZA, Project Architect

Architect (Candidate Architect)
Initially hired as a Junior Architect, I rapidly worked my way up to Project Architect, tasked with leading our conceptual department for tenders, competitions and high-value commercial developments, often being mixed-use. My inter-personal and design skills led to me dealing with the majority of the client and consultant relations, as well as producing consolidated concepts within an extremely tight deadline. Projects would range from $20 to $75 million
USD. I personally design every aspect of my concepts and after a value engineering stage with my colleagues, I would lead a team of 2 to 5 architects in the production of working, tender and submission drawings, and further technical resolution. FWJK provided me with a very unique opportunity as it is an integrated firm of Quantity Surveyors, Development Managers
and Architects. As a result, I have acquired a keen balance in the dichotomy of design and cost. Innovatively rationalizing form making to ensure most financially viable option.
