Oregon State University Cascades Dining and Residence Halls

Oregon State University selected a team comprised of SERA Architects, Walsh Construction and American Campus Communities to design and build both a residence hall and dining hall to kick off the staggered development of the new university campus in Bend, OR.

The three and four story Residence Hall accommodates 300 students at full capacity, providing study rooms, lounges, kitchens, a fitness center and recreational gear storage in addition to a variety of living units.

The two story Dining Hall provides indoor seating for 250 people in the cafeteria along with Administration offices, four classrooms, and a meditative room.  Additional amenities include a cafe with booth seating and a double height fireplace.

The exterior materials of both buildings are stained wood, metal panel and glass, creating a robust and durable exterior. Wood accents are also found on the inside, along with colors chosen from the Oregon State University pallette.

The project was recognized at the 2017 Interface Student Housing Conference with an Innovator award for Best New Development.
