About

To whom it may concern,

After my recent graduation, with a Bachelor of Science from Lawrence Technological University’s school of Architecture, I am in search for the opportunity to showcase and refine my creative design skills.  An innovative architectural firm such as yours could provide that opportunity.

I currently have over five years experience in both Revit and AutoCAD software programs, and substantial experience with the Adobe Design Suite.  In addition, I have just completed the Allied Design Studio at Lawrence Technological University, referred to as “Detroit Studio”.  The mission of the Detroit Studio is to provide students with an enriched educational experience through community-based architectural, urban design and other community-driver development projects.  This past semester my team and I created a master plan of the North End Community of Detroit, MI.  While developing a relationship with our clients, we were able to work with community organizations, local residents, municipal officials and other professionals in the field in order to gather valuable information and analysis regarding the community.  In the beginning phases of planning my unique blend of educational and personal experiences gave me an upper hand and was named Project Manager of our group.  In the following months I thrived in this leadership opportunity and by May I had led my group to complete a 3-phase neighborhood development proposal providing our clients with comprehensive plans to begin their efforts in redevelopment.  My energetic, hard-working attitude resulted in a successful final proposal for our clients. In realizing my effort, I was nominated to be considered for a scholarship for Lawrence Tech’s master’s degree program by my professor, Dr. Joongsub Kim.

There are many distinguished qualities which make me a unique and beneficial candidate for your firm.  Within my portfolio, and briefly shown below, you will see my most recent building design which was a proposal for a multi-use building combining a community art center/gallery with residential lofts within the city of Birmingham, MI.

Upon reviewing my credentials, I am confident they pertain to the qualifications and standards held within your company.  I look forward to discussing future possibilities with your company and thank you for your consideration.

Kindly,

Daniel McLaughlin
