redpan was created to share good food in a good setting, and nurture interaction and creativity where ideas can be exchanged over a casual, convivial meal. Generous curves and rounded corners were used to add hints of sophistication, dynamism and softness to a function design, to create a multi-functional space that is warm, vibrant and conveys chic.
Purpose-built half-height walls crafted from stacked layers of plywood visually connect the space to the rest of the shopping mall. The unfinished plywood reflects the focus on the honest earthiness of materials. The interior architecture is pared down to its elementary forms; architectural contouring is used to elevate the basic building materials to encourage intuitive responses. Strategically placed colours and carefully chosen furniture transform the place into comfortable den-like corners and spaces, offering a generous skylight reminiscent of an al fresco terrace.
Unique to redpan, the custom-designed hanging glass feature comprises 2,000 glass pieces individually adjusted by hand over weeks to follow its distinctive curves, creating visual interest and depth. The custom-designed glass table in the private dining room is made completely of thin glass panels, including the legs, to highlight the versatility of this sleek yet sturdy material in creating simple, stylish and elegant designs. These highlights celebrate local craftsmanship, innovation and attention to detail.
