Daniels and Zermack Architects, LLC is the oldest Architectural Firm in Ann Arbor with a continuous 69-year history and tradition. Beginning with Daniels and Zermack’s first branch bank in 1950, and throughout the completion of more than a thousand succeeding projects, the firm has primarily focused on the design of financial institutions and more recently specialized in the design of Libraries with over 50 completed library projects. The firm provides complete architectural, engineering and interior design services for projects from as small as an ATM Kiosk to as large as 185,000 sf headquarter buildings. The firm is a small award-winning design firm where Principals are involved in every project and staff participate in all aspects of the Architectural and Interior Design Practice. The Firm is currently led by principals, Seth Penchansky, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, and Dan Whisler, AIA, LEED AP BD+C.
With the merging of Penchansky Whisler Architects in 2014, Daniels and Zermack added an expertise in Library Design and Sustainability, including the LEED certification of the Harper Woods Public Library, Michigan’s first LEED certified public library in 2004, and the Ferndale Public Library, that received an AIA Huron Valley design award and an Honorable Mention from CAM Magazine for the 2010 Green Project of the Year. Most recently the firm was honored with a AIA Huron Valley Honor Award for the new 34,000 sf Commerce Township Public Library. The firm has also facilitated the LEED certification of large Corporate Headquarters Buildings and Government Buildings and even a small Cafe.
