Christopher Smith

Sir or Madam,

Please accept my resume for the position advertised on Archinect.

I am a dynamic, fast-paced, young architectural designer, with five years of work experience ranging from the design of commercial retail, office, healthcare, sporting and entertainment, educational and restaurants to single-family residential and multi-family residential construction. I have been out of university for over two and a half years now, with over 5 years of professional experience pursuing my life long passion towards becoming a licensed architect. My single gap in employment comes from resigning from my previous employer and moving across the country to the Los Angeles area to pursue this course.

I was drawn to this available position because of the quality of work displayed by your staff and by the value I see myself contributing to the company and likewise the company to myself and my career goals. I posses a strong work ethic and sharp focus. With the path I took through both my school and work experience, I have proven my desire to succeed and grow. My attention to detail and excellent pre-problem recognition, gained through a diverse education and work experience, help me to methodically sort through every aspect of a project, allowing it to deliver on time.

The four years I have worked at my previous firm, a small well-oiled office in Virginia, I became a highly integrated member of the design team from the schematic design phase to the construction document development and all the way through to the construction admin processes. In addition to that I also worked for a residential real estate company on a wide range of tasks from the visual aspects of architectural photography to targeted marketing strategies and more.

Given our aligned passions and my experience in multiple offices I am confident in my ability to step into your team and contribute to your future successes.  After you have examined the enclosed resume and qualifications I would be happy to answer any questions. Please contact me to receive any work samples you may wish to see. Thank you for your time and consideration.
