The arc is the most prominent aspect on the Torino Lingotto site; primarily Campenera’s Arco Olympico and the arches of the Mercati Generali. By diagramming the existing conditions on the site, and relating them to how the ancient arc has been transformed through time, a design strategy was developed to create a project directly relating to the history of the site. Using Generative Components, a component was created which consisted of two arcs, and two ridge points, both of which adjust based on different variables. By using these informational points, problems such as form, light, and structure were easily resolved. The Final Product consists of a Media tech center which includes an outdoor Performance space and a ramp, which connects the existing bridge with the ground plane.
