About

I am Bradley Bowman, a passionate architect and educator dedicated to creating spaces that foster connection and community. With six years of experience designing innovative solutions for healthcare, multifamily housing, and higher education projects, I blend technical expertise with a deep understanding of human-centered design. My research on the loneliness epidemic drives my mission to craft environments that enrich lives and bring people together.

Arizona Architectural Archives Grant, 1st Place

A proposed 6-week excursion to Arcosanti, an experimental town located 70 miles outside of Phoenix. Designed by Paolo Soleri, this community serves as a prototype integrating architectural design with ecological principles. It operates as a counterpoint to mass consumerism, urban sprawl, unchecked consumption, and social isolation. The research aims to further investigate social isolation while gaining firsthand exposure to an alternative urban development.

- My research led me on a 12-month expedition to Berlin, Prague, Lisbon, Seattle, Chicago, and New York City. In Berlin, I focused on studying co-living communities, particularly the baugruppen housing model, and conducted interviews with architects and residents in various housing developments. In Prague, I visited three communes and compounds, engaging with community leaders to understand the dynamics of successful alternative developments. In Lisbon, I explored the phenomenon of digital nomads and their impact on creating vibrant social hubs while also eroding local communities.
