Anthony Bright was born in New Jersey but spent his formative years in metro Atlanta. At an early age his creative and artistic abilities were encouraged by family and teachers. He spent several years discovering and refining his talents with the artist Richard D. Franklin of Georgia.
As a junior in high school he was accepted to the University of Florida summer Architecture program. There he confirmed his purpose and was able to focus on his passion of creating lasting design statements. Upon graduating from Dunwoody High School he attended Howard University in Washington, D.C. and was admitted to the School of Architecture and Design. The rigorous curriculum and high standards set forth by the faculty exposed him to the limitless possibilities of the craft.
In his junior year he co-founded iLLiS Designs, a student design group. iLLis was later commissioned to create a sustainable community park above an overpass along Washington, D.C.’s North Capitol Street. Following its successful presentation to the community of the Ward 5 district, the iLLiS group received a grant from the D.C Office of Planning, via the supervising Smithgroup JJR. Upon completion of this project, Anthony traveled to Europe to study architecture in Paris, France.
Now beginning his career journey he seeks opportunities that will foster creativity, illicit conversation and provide him with opportunities to stretch the boundaries of design. The ideal employer would be a multi-disciplinary architecture firm. He enjoys creating one of a kind furniture pieces, as well as stylish commercial and residential interiors, and plans to develop this skill into a career. He currently resides in Manhattan and loves to explore the urban terrain.
