Low-Rise Housing Competition, 2nd Place
Submitted under the name Studio TAAP in collaboration with Anna Lake-Smith, Trent Tunks, and Patrick Till.
Our proposal was a collaborative housing project meant to tap into the existing multigenerational nature of much of LA's existing residential population. Homes are organized around four communal kitchens that celebrate the motions that bring families together: growing, cooking, and sharing food. The flexible modularity of the living spaces allows for units to be bought/sold/leased as families change in size over time and as finances allow, lowering the cost barrier for first time homeowners. A pro forma by Lake-Smith detailed how the venture could be financed.
