I work on variety of projects tasks including existing condition, schematic design and construction drawings, occasional site visits and client meetings, department of building documents, local township code for projects, etc.

Since the pandemic started I could not continue my regular job as a librarian and drafts person. Therefor I started working as a freelance designer mainly working for the college community, help design small products and virtual spaces. I am recently working on a project of designing a virtual exhibition space for NJIT architecture library under direct supervision of the director of the library.

I have worked at this small firm in Montclair as an Intern Draftsman. I have worked on elevations, sections, plans, site plans, etc on Autocad. I have occasionally performed tasks such as go to Department of Building office in New York to get documents submitted, and approved, I have also visited sites in New York and New Jersey to measure, take photos and make sketches for job estimation and inspection.
Reasons for Leaving:
Since it was a very small office, I was occasionally tasked to run errands like bring coffee and bring lunch to the owner/chief architect. I was also not compensated for using my car for office tasks. At the time he wanted me to work full time and dedicate my entire life to his office, but I was still in 3rd year of 5 year program, in addition to working another part time job so I could not accept these terms and resigned from this position.

At New Jersey Institute of Technology I learned free hand sketches, drafting by hand, tools of the trade, computer aided drafting using Autocad, Rhino, Revit, 2D and 3D design skills using Rhino, Revit, Autodesk Maya, support applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and many other Adobe and Autodesk Softwares. In addition to my architectural studies I have also learned Sound Designing, recording and adding sound effects to pictures and videos. I have taken general studies courses and creative writing courses.

I have immigrated from Bangladesh in 2009 to Bloomfield, NJ, United States. I immediately continued my education from Bangladesh to local high school here. I have taken ESL and complete all levels in 3 months then was transferred to standard English literature course and was registered for Spanish as my second(third) language.
If you look at my high school graduation time line and college time line you will notice a discrepancy. I have graduated in 2012 from high school, but my father was diagnosed with brain tumor. So I started college in 2012 and when my father passed away in 2013, due to grievance I dropped out of college because I could not focus on studies and work 8 hours a day at Newark Airport and commute by public transit. I just wanted to put everything in the open.
