My final project for Integrated Studio. This is a set of galleries and event spaces for the Four Freedoms Memorial on Roosevelt Island in New York City. This design was born out of the careful analysis of the existing site conditions and historical context. Because this is for an Integrated Studio, I also had to work out the structure, HVAC systems, building codes, and sustainability. Each gallery focuses on one of the freedoms that FDR talked about in his speech, those being Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, Freedom from Want, and Freedom from Fear. The building also includes an interior court, a library, and a multi level café with indoor and outdoor dining.
