San Francisco, CA
The corner apartment in a 17-story coop high-rise designed by John C. Hladik in 1926. The Tudor Revival style building has a very New York feel, and was built by developer Joseph Greenback aimed specifically at the members of the famed Bohemian Club half a block away whose roster includes some of the most powerful men in the country. Its beautiful architectural details include a stunning lobby, a roof deck with amazing city views, and beautiful arched doors throughout.
Claudia took a high-low approach to the design by combining unique custom furnishings she designed with valuable antiques and flea market finds. In response to San Francisco’s cool light resulting from the frequent fog the palette is warm and rich. To reflect her passion for the exotic she added details from all over the world, including art and artifacts from Africa, China, India, Tibet, Thailand, Korea and Japan. This mix of many cultures, layered with old and new, results in a cosmopolitan chic design that is timeless and inviting.
