The idea of the client was to give the home an expansive and upscale flavour with clean-lined furniture and a harmonious colour scheme – to prevent the overall look from becoming overtly ostentatious.
There’s more to luxury than wealth – it is now measured in terms of good taste, class, and endurance. And when it comes to creating a modern luxe abode, we opted for simple yet quality materials for the renovation and included understated yet polished decorative elements and stayed away from anything that borders gaudy.
The dark grey slate stone backdrop are a nice contrast and add warmth to a charming entryway. The curved pop art staircase is designed to create a floating monolith masterpiece. A smooth dull gold finish on the staircase gives a sense of a sculpture bestowed in the space.
Flowing water can ease tensions and allow the vibrations of the life force to enter us and nourish our aura. A water body hence is installed on to double up the reflections and create an interesting play of light and shadow.
The main door of this space is a customised pattern in artisan glass called vetrite by sicis, Italy. Vetrite laminated glass tile uses a unique proprietary technique in a myriad of standard tile sizes and custom patterns to capture the look of fabric, metal, leather, luxury wallpaper, and fresh modern interpretations of antique mirror, all with stain resistant glass surface.
The column in the centre of the space is cladded with black lacquered glass to make it disappear owing to its reflectivity. In built storage for crockery and decorative pieces flushed with the column acts as a partition separating the two spaces. In this space, Italian gray leather sofa softens the brass accentuated set of 3 centre tables with varying heights. The two rust pop chairs in velvet brightens the space.
The dining area is designed to be inviting, relaxing, and as delicious to look at and spend time in as the food being served. The custom made table in the rare pallisandro grey stone acts as the focal point of the room. The dining chairs seem hanging onto the brass frame. The black marble wall makes a statement and contrasts against the warm glow of the gold chandelier and wooden accents. The vertical ivory veins in the marble create the effect of an abstract artwork on the wall. In this space, pairing grays, whites, and black keeps the color scheme serene.
