Tianjin NDU Headquarters

The project is located in Chentang Innovation Demonstration Area (CIDA). CIDA actively explores the new path of innovation-driven development, actively gathers enterprise entities and institutions in the field of design, intelligent manufacturing, science and technology financing, environmental protection and cultural industry represented by the establishment of the North Research Institute of NJUST and North Design Union (NDU).

The design aims to act as a significant landscape node along the landscape belt park. At that time, North Design Union not only provide regular office functions, but also an important platform for a trinity- participation design environment with public, academic and enterprises participation.

Design establishes an incremental connection from the public to the private. The space form, such as sunken square, reception hall, inner street, detachable booth, loop exhibition, atrium, sculpture supporting space, open office and independent center office, is set along the CONNECTION, which is a INCREMENTAL method to deal with a series of linear issues from the city to the site, from the site to citizen space, from citizen space to office, and finally in the office environment effectively and efficiently merging three aspect of research institutes, academic and enterprises.
