The Architectural Staff I actively participates in the project design and production. The Architectural Staff I is expected to integrate information and prepare coordinated documents under the direction of the Project Team Leaders.

The Architectural Staff II actively participates in the project design and production under the direction of the Project Architect, Design Architect, Project Manager, or Principal, as appropriate. The Architectural Staff II is expected to integrate information and prepare coordinated documents under the direction of the Project Team Leaders. The Architectural Staff II provides mentoring and guidance to those on the team with less work experience. This is a stepping stone to the resigster Staff Architect position.

Specific responsibilities of the Architectural Staff I may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborates with team leadership to produce schedule implementation, design reviews, drawing updates, drawing / specification coordination, value engineering, constructability feasibility, review of shop drawings, review and response to Requests for Information (RFI's), and creation of Architectural Supplemental Instructions (ASI's), Proposal Requests (PR's) and Change Orders
  • Assists Project Architect in exploring design alternatives
  • Researches building materials and systems, building codes, regulations, etc.
  • Accurately delivers all project phase on time and within budget to achieve client goals
  • Develop details that are consistent with the design direction, and support the overall quality of the project
  • Assist in presentation drawings
  • Mentor less experienced Architectural Interns and offers advice, training, and direction
  • Develop knowledge of Cooper Carry projects and resources
  • Documents client communications as needed
  • Inform Principal of potential project opportunities, process and project improvements
  • Minimum of 3 years professional architectural experience; eligible to take the registration exam, or in process but not yet registered.
  • Graduate of accredited architectural program with Bachelor's level degree
  • Minimum of 3 years graphic and/or design experience or comparable knowledge gained in an academic environment
  • Strong understanding of building systems
  • Strong Construction Documentation (CD) skills
  • Must be proficient in Revit and Adobe Suite
  • Ability to work with medium-level of supervision
