Progressive East Village Architecture and Design firm is seeking a responsible, self-motivated mid-level architect or designer for immediate, full time position. Candidate must be not only CAD-proficient and detail-oriented, but someone who also listens to and contributes to a creative design dialogue. The candidate must be able to take direction and work independently. They will also need to be a team player, and take responsibility for work assigned.  Firm also designs and fabricates unique furniture objects - 3D modeling a plus.

Responsibilities include collaborating with the firm's principal in all aspects of project design and implementation. Applicants should demonstrate a strong design sensitivity and thoroughness in drawing and project organization that is commensurate with highly customized projects. This will include drafting of projects, picking up red lines, permit drawings, and construction drawings. The position requires communicating on a daily basis with clients, professional and contractors.

Persons interested must also have the following requirements:

  • 5-10 years experience and professional degree in architecture
  • Construction Documents experience required
  • Project Management of 2-3 projects simultaneously
  • Site/field work experience
  • Highly motivated and organized
  • CAD 2004-2012 proficiency
  • 3D modeling is a plus – Max, Rhino, etc.
  • Ability to work on short time frames and meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and manage various projects simultaneously
  • Must be proficient in putting together sets of drawings
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
