Technical Project Architect - New York

Manages, organizes and coordinates project teams and team assignments to complete architectural projects, responsible for ensuring that production of construction documents are in concert with design intent, responsible for project schedules and budgets. Resolves complex technical/design issues and provides guidance to team. Coordinates activity and communication between project team, sub-contractors and other disciplines. Knowledge of building codes and structures. Experience in architectural practice with management experience in leading project teams. Must be a licensed architect. Job Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in commercial architecture
  • Skilled use of Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp required
  • Competent in business writing and communication skills
  • Experience in all project phases, from strategic planning and programming through construction and post occupany phases
  • Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program required
  • Strong experience in construction document preparation and field operations
  • Knowledge of building materials, specifications, construction techniques
  • Strong knowledge of interior detailing and millwork design
  • Experience with building codes, ADA requirements, zoning and generally knowledgeable in jurisdictional processes
  • Sufficient knowledge of engineering disciplines to coordinate their work
  • Registered Architect
  • LEED Professional Credentials a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager and/or manager client/team/project coordination
  • Conduct code analyses and be the primary point of contact with jurisdictions
  • Document coordination, design detailing
  • Maintain the Project Manual and edit specifications as required
  • Conduct on-site observations, prepare Architect's field reports as needed
  • Submittal reviews during construction, maintain RFI and submittal logs
  • Multi-task and self-prioritize
