Rivers & Christian, Inc. (R&C) is a Los Angeles-based boutique architecture firm specializing in aviation planning and design. We are looking for intermediate level design professionals to join our team.
About Us:
R&C was founded in 1979 with a continuous primary objective to provide professional design services to our aviation partners.
The R&C team works on projects with a wide range of scope, size, and complexity at airports in southern California for all phases of planning, design, and construction. Recent projects include long term master planning, terminal renovation and expansion, airline relocations, and cargo facility improvements.

Expectations:

Responsibilities:
- General. Independently apply advanced architectural concepts and develop designs. Carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures, and meet established goals and deadlines.
- Design. Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best address the challenge and/or meet the needs of the client.
- Construction Documents. Prepare construction document set with advisement from Job Captain/ Project Manager for advanced technical solutions.
- Specifications. Responsible for writing specifications for designated divisions. Understands specification divisions and parts. Ability to identify products needed, contact reps, and evaluate product options. Collects and organizes cut sheets.
- Construction Administration. Attend meetings with contractor, participate in site observations, and prepare field reports. Reviews submittals and responds to RFIs. Prepare and issue bulletins and closeout documentation.
- Code Requirements. Understand and incorporate code requirements into drawings. Participate in, and may lead, review and approval process with building department or other authorities having jurisdiction.
- Consultant Coordination. Participate in consultant coordination, may lead specific elements or smaller projects, actively participate in meetings, review questions with more experienced team members. Review and understand consultant drawings for interface with architectural solutions.
- Meetings. Attend, present, and may lead project meetings including with clients and stakeholders. Prepare meeting notes and take actions on next steps.
- QAQC. Assure quality and accuracy of work product. Perform self qa/qc for work produced.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Architecture, bachelor's degree or higher (required)
- 6+ years of post-graduate project experience (required)
- Knowledge of architectural design and the basics of architectural drawing set production and 3D coordination (required)
- Revit, with a minimum of 5 years Revit project experience (required)
- Other software and tools including Autodesk Architecture Collection, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft 365 Tools (required)

- Competitive salary ($72,000 – $95,000 DOE)
