Andrew Suvalsky Designs (ASD) is a 20-year old NYC-based interior design firm focusing on high-end residential renovations. ASD's work incorporates a significant amount of custom designed millwork, furnishings, and other product. We are very client-service driven, and are known for a high level of care with all details of design, construction and expectation management.
The Interior Architect will be responsible for preparing design documents including but not limited to custom furniture, millwork details, working drawings including construction details, FF&E specifications, and sketches & material boards. The candidate must be able to project manage work specific to and throughout all phases of various projects, including detailed vendor follow up. The position requires regular coordination and work with various consultants including outside architects, structural engineers, graphic designers, furniture vendors, expediters, etc.

Education
Architecture or Interior Design school graduate; other accreditations encouraged
Experience
3 - 5 years experience in high-end residential interiors
Exceptional entry-level candidates willbe considered
Strong project management experience
Skills
AutoCAD, highly proficient (must be able to understand and produce residential interior, full construction sets, and schedules)
Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
SketchUp, Revit (plus) or other 3D modeling programs
MS Office Word, Excel & PowerPoint and Google Suite
Design Manager (plus)
Construction project management
Comfortable and confident in corresponding with clients
Responsibilities & Requirements
Self-directed with a high level of initiative, a positive can-do attitude, open to feedback, and capability to work both independently and cooperatively in a fun and fast-paced environment
Collaborate with the ASD team on tasks ranging from site surveys to design presentation renderings with Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit
Ability to lead a single-family renovation project independently and as part of a team
Capable of researching and sourcing FF&E
Strong oral and written communication skills
Extremely detail oriented with strong organizational and follow up skills
Understanding of ADA-compliant space planning, able to organize construction schedules (FF&E, lighting, millwork shop drawings, etc.), drawing and organizing construction documentation bid and build sets, building management paperwork
Work with NYC DOB Alteration Type-II filing process
