firm currently hiring a Design Research Analyst.
Working with the innovation and analytics team, this position will
lead processes that apply data and research methodologies to Flad’s
project work. Flad is a team of creative, intelligent, energetic

How will your days be spent

Work collaboratively with clients, leadership, and project teams to
lead the framework, structure, and processes for research and
planning. This may include leading aspects of projects with strong
data and analytics focus.

Independently collaborate with leaders in identifying best-practice
and client metrics to define in front-end planning sessions with
client, monitor application of metrics throughout project life
cycle, and develop pre- and post-occupancy surveys and studies that
collect the required data and measure outcomes.

Lead space utilization analysis and design research project teams.
Facilitate front-end visioning and planning workshops, focus
groups, and data-review sessions with clients.

Work with clients to connect meaning to the data outcomes by
understanding how they use and operate their space and helping
devise ways for them to meet their future goals from a human
factors perspective.

Collaborate in project teams to create data and space
visualizations that tell the story of the current and/or future
metrics.

Lead space utilization analyses. Analyze data and produce
meaningful metrics, develop insights, and provide recommendations
to the client.
- Provide internal
and external consultation and subject matter expertise related to
applied design research.
What you bring to this role
Experience:
- Minimum of
7 years of recent and relevant experience in design research, data
analysis, human factors, master planning, post occupancy
evaluation, process improvement, architecture, interior design, or
equivalent required.
- Experience
with research data collection tools, such as surveys, focus groups,
interviews, observations, process mapping, journey mapping, or
equivalent required.
Required
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency
with Microsoft 365 products including Excel and PowerPoint
required; Power BI preferred.
- Experience
in data and analytics, with the ability to identify appropriate
tools and methods to analyze and visually communicate
insights.
Education:
- Bachelor’s
degree in architecture, interior design, psychology, data science,
industrial engineering, business, human factors engineering,
applied research, or other related degree required.
