The office of David Hotson_Architect (www.hotson.net) is an award-winning architectural firm located in Lower Manhattan.  

Recently completed projects include the Saint Sarkis Armenian Church, which was selected as the 2022 US Building of the Year on world-architects and received a 2024 NYC AIA Honor Award in January 2024.  The church was described by celebrated architectural critic Mark Lamster of The Dallas Morning News, as “…..the most aesthetically remarkable and emotionally moving work of architecture produced in North Texas in a generation.” 

The office is developing a set of distinct competences around the visualization, modeling, detailing and fabrication of figural volumes of architectural space, and the manipulation of architectural space to respond to the moving point of view. 

Active commissions include residential projects which will be detailed and constructed to a standard that meets or exceeds that of our Skyhouse project (http://hotson.net/#/skyhouse-chapter-one/), which was selected as the Apartment of the Decade by Interior Design Magazine.

The office is seeking one or more intermediate architects with 8-10 years of experience with design, detailing, construction document production and construction administration with very-high-end residential projects, with a focus on technical coordination and impeccable modern detailing. 

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following aptitudes:

• Demonstrated experience with detailing modern high-end residential interior construction including impeccable millwork detailing and work in metal, glass, stone, and contemporary composite materials
• Exceptional ability to visualize and represent spatial relationships. 
• Demonstrated interest in spatial volume as a primary design medium of architectural design.
• Demonstrated experience in construction document preparation, project management and coordination with consultants.
• Expertise in AutoCad and Rhino is a requirement. Expertise in Revit is a plus
• Polished 3D modeling and rendering skills are a plus.
