Interior Architect
Are you an Architect with a focus on Interior Design? Our small but growing Architectural firm is seeking an Interior Architect to join our dedicated staff of professionals. Our client base is primarily higher ed institutions and state and local municipalities. Our diverse project  types includes offices,  classrooms, lecture halls, research labs, study lounges, dining spaces, theatrical venues and various public spaces.
Responsibilities include:
•    A coordinated selection of furnishings and finishes. This includes developing project specific color and material palettes for review with the firm’s principal and presentation to the client. This often involves developing alternate schemes that are internally vetted down to specific recommendations to the client. 
•    Interacting with clients at various hierarchical levels to develop programs, interview end users, design presentations, etc…
•    Creation of presentation materials, including rendered plans, vignettes, sample boards and furnishing schedules.
•    Selection and coordination of architectural finishes, including materials, colors, lighting fixtures, etc.
•    Interact with lighting consultants in selecting and specifying appropriate lighting systems. 
•    Preparation of FFE bid documents for issuance to furniture dealers and vendors.
•    Administering the bid process, including bid leveling, final negotiations with vendors and assisting clients with procurement.
•    Administering installations, including order tracking, schedule coordination, review of installations, payment approval, punch list preparation and review.
The necessary skills include:
•    Good communicative and interpersonal skills.
•    Good organizational skills with an attention to detail while not losing sight of the big picture.
•    Basic familiarity with office and systems furniture including the major manufacturers who produce this furniture.
•    Understanding of construction detailing including casework, finishes, window treatments, signage and various other fixed elements that are included in an architectural package. 
•    Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Familiarity with Revit. Our office is increasingly deploying a Revit platform so be prepared to learn it. An overall comfort level with the digital world is important. 
•    An understanding of teamwork, especially in a creative environment.
•    An understanding of critical thinking. 
•    A sense of humor.
•    Common sense.
