Stayner Architects a small architecture, development, and construction practice located in Echo Park that seeks to be rigorous its design, cunning in its built realization, and comprehensive in its approach.

We are currently seeking a full-time Junior Designer to assist with a variety of commercial, residential, institutional, and hospitality projects that are currently in development and construction. We are looking for a highly-motivated individuals who are interested in taking on challenges and playing an active role in projects, with involvement in both design and construction.

Qualifications for Junior Designer:

  • Master’s degree in architecture from an accredited university or bachelor’s degree with some professional experience

  • 0-3 years of professional architectural experience

  • Aesthetic judgement and the ability realization of abstract concepts through physical form, space, and material

  • Some experience or familiarity with building code and zoning research, especially California and Los Angeles

  • Understanding of construction methods, materials, and details.

  • Interest in excellence in both design and construction, from project inception through realization

  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, V-Ray, and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Motivated, independent, and cooperative problem solver with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills required.

Our practice is engaged in a holistic approach to architecture. Unlike most architectural firms we expect an agility in moving across multiple roles in the design process. For example, this means you may be helping to develop a pro forma for a project, or engaged in construction management in the field, or engaged in graphic design and branding, or working on shop drawings for furniture, or fabricating and assembling lighting in our workshop, developing project proposals, or . . .
