Senior Project Manager / Corporate Interiors Projects and Building Repositioning

We are a boutique NJ architecture and design firm that does an interesting blend of projects. The candidate we are looking for needs to have extensive experience in managing the design and construction of corporate interiors projects. In addition, this person needs to be an experienced 3-dimensional architectural designer who can develop the “Big Idea” for projects and then lead a team through the design process.


Must haves:

  • Minimum 10 years U.S. Architect experience
  • Assisting principals in the day-to-day operations of the office, including short and long term staffing assignments
  • Independently managing deliverables for all assigned projects, including proposals, fee plans, etc.
  • Overseeing the design for a given project. This includes the development of the “Big Idea”.
  • Coordinating and supervising all due diligence aspects, such as surveying, zoning analyses, and code reviews
  • Managing schedule, budget and fees for all assigned projects
  • Overseeing and directing staff assigned for projects
  • Managing Studio 1200’s consultants on project related assignments
  • Leading Client and Consultant meetings
  • Meeting with Clients to establish Program and Budget requirements
  • Demonstrating proficiency in visualization through sketching as part of Studio 1200’s Design Development process
  • Working closely with the Principals to review and finalize all conceptual architecture/design  prior to presentations
  • Overseeing and coordinating the production of Design Presentations, including finish boards, perspective sketches, and rendered drawings
  • Developing cartoon sets for use in production of Construction Documents
  • Assisting in the production of Construction Documents and Specifications
  • Developing construction details
  • Reviewing construction documents sets within the office, prior to issuance
  • Conducting independent quality assurance audits on Studio 1200 drawings for clarity and consistency
  • Preparing bid packages and leveling bids for projects
  • Contributing to the development of a CAD detail library and drawing standards for use in all Studio 1200 projects
  • Mentoring junior staff members
  • Meeting with industry vendors to learn about new building products, and maintaining architectural library.
  • Representing Studio 1200 at industry events and conferences
  • Assisting in marketing efforts to explore new avenues of business for Studio 1200
