LMN Architects is currently seeking outstanding candidates for the position of Design Technology Manager. The Design Technology Manager will work as a member of Tech Studio, LMN’s research and development group, to leverage research and emerging technologies to continuously improve the firm’s design process. This new position will oversee the firm-wide implementation of digital design and production platforms, develop and curate best practices, manage standards and lead training efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the design, simulation, and production process as well as an ability to develop and disseminate new working methodologies to facilitate the firm’s cross-platform design studio. 

Position Description

  • Oversee and maintain the office-wide Design Technology and BIM systems
  • Coordinate the development and maintenance of BIM standards, content, best practices and documentation
  • Provide leadership to the firm’s Design Technology Specialists group to address real-time needs of project teams to improve team performance
  • Ensure that project models are set-up and maintained according to firm standards
  • Develop, coordinate and lead on-going application training
  • Investigate, test and deploy new digital design tools for firm-wide implementation
  • Provide support for Design Technology related needs and document known issues and best practices
  • Work with Tech Studio to develop and implement objectives for firm-wide technology use
  • Consult with principals and project teams to develop innovative solutions to enhancing the practice of architecture
  • Work with project managers and firm leadership to assist in the development of contract provisions that appropriately address Design Technology within the context of project delivery

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in architecture or related design and construction field
  • Four-year degree in design, technology, or related field preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks Manage, Autodesk 3ds Max
  • Knowledge of Rhino and Grasshopper, AutoDesk Dynamo
  • Autodesk Inventor, Autolisp, Visual Basic and Script Writing preferred
  • Experience in customizing the Autodesk Revit API preferred
  • Experience in architecture or related design field preferred
