Wolcott Architecture Interiors (WAI) based in Culver City is accepting resumes for a Job Captain position.

The Job Captain is responsible for preparing a complete and accurate set of architectural documents, coordinating engineering contract documents and project manuals and collaborating with and directing a production team in all aspects of the preparation of construction documents.

Essential Duties:

  1. Prepare construction documents, review and coordinate with team members and check for accuracy.
  2. As needed lead field survey teams for development and documentation of as-built conditions.
  3. Maintain, organize and archive project files during and at the close of a project.
  4. Demonstrate and utilize working knowledge of lighting, HVAC, structural, plumbing, fire protection and electrical design as well as of relevant codes including IBC, CBC, ADA, Title 24 and of BOMA calculation concepts.
  5. Coordinate the submission of documents to the building department and support construction administration (RFIs, RFPs, shop drawings, submittals, etc).
  6. Maintain an awareness and understanding of project schedules, design fees, project budgets, reimbursable costs, etc. Adhere to scope of the pricing plan when preparing final documents. Provide cost reports and projections to the Project Manager as needed.
  7. Exude a collaborative and positive attitude in working with the Production Team and foster an atmosphere for learning and professional growth.

The ideal candidate should possess 5-7 years of relevant experience in the architectural/interiors field, be at minimum an intermediate user of CAD and demonstrate working knowledge of relevant aspects of commercial planning and design.
