The Senior Interior Designer is a specialized and highly creative design role. Working with the Director of Interior Design, the Senior Interior Designer will set and maintain the design concepts for interior architectural design projects and new architecture projects.

Specific responsibilities of the Senior Interior Designer may include, but shall not be limited to:

  • Participate in client meetings and confirm our understanding of the Client\'s project goals/requirements and communicate that to team members.
  • Develop space programming and workplace strategies for projects.
  • Manage program development and feasibility studies.
  • Generate a design that can be technically implemented, within the constraints of the client goals, budget and within local ordinances and codes.
  • Select materials, colors, fixtures and furniture.
  • Explore alternate design directions within the constraints of the Clients program and budget, as required.
  • Review selection of building systems with the Project Interior Designer/Project Architect.
  • Lead graphic formatting and story board of client presentations.
  • Lead or participate in presentations that communicate the design concepts to the Client
  • Develop and oversee the design goals for multiple projects with team leadership under direction of Director of Interior Design or the Principal.
  • Inform and report to Director of Interior Design and project manager on project progress, quality and challenges that could impact project profitability or execution.
  • Collaborate with a team of Designers and Architects in developing design solutions that meet the Client’s needs on time and within budget.
  • Participate in developing proposals, marketing presentations and lead development.
  • Participate in the development of firm design standards.
  • Review schematic design, design development, shop drawings, construction documents and material samples for conformance with the design intent.
  • Review completed projects for design strengths and weaknesses.
  • Coordinate presentation drawings and in-house reviews.
  • Monitor all phases of project design execution to minimize rework.
  • Maintain base state registration, and professional affiliations.
  • Participate in development of marketing and PR collateral.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered Interior Designer/Architect
  • 6-10 years professional commercial design experience
  • Ability to set initial design concept
  • Strong understanding of construction methods
  • Collaborative and inspiring team design leader
  • Experience on multi-disciplined architecture teams
