i got second in a track meet when i was 12, so just that one

I won the 'best presentation' prize for my thesis project. And, er.... well, I got the "most improved" and "highest GPA" award from my fraternity one semester. Do those count?

Oh, and bunches of scholarships. Out of them, I'd say that two or three would qualify as 'awards', i.e. they had specific criteria, and were only awarded to one person, as opposed to others which distributed dribbles of money among the poor masses of architecture students.

I won a $400 prize for the NCAA March Madness pool that I participated in 2000. (I accurately predicted the entire final four and finals game to skyrocket in the points). I also have won a drawing for a few DVDs and a t-shirt from Surfer Magazine recently. In addition, an office raffle netted me a great Pentium3 500mhz computer that they were tossing out. I also won a random drawing from an online evaluation company for $100. I have also won numerous awards throughout elementary school. I was a two time recipient of the second grade "Greatest 2nd Gator" award. I also won a 1st and 2nd place in the FMEA State competition for violin duet and solo respectively. My team tied for 2nd overall in the US K-8 National Chess Championships (the chicks dig it). And to top it off, I won "Best Attitude" award at tennis camp in 6th grade.

Portfolio question -

if I apply to OMA, should I include black / white or color photos of all of my prizes. Seeing how the ribbons that I won in 2nd grade track and field were color coded (Blue - 1st, red - second, etc) I feel that I should have color photos of these. However, the rest of my images are black and white.

What should I do???

i got first place in the charles county fair for a painting i did of a race car when i was six years old.

mdler, i was also voted dirtiest too. the award was for the one who was most likely to be dirty/worst dressed at a crit.

5th place in the annual "Handsome Boy Modeling Contest" with a compliment from Nathaniel Merriweather.

I won first place at my high school and in my region for a science fair project in which I designed a skyscraper (and built a 6-foot-tall scale model of it).

I got a $50 "Employee Recognition Award" from a former firm for my work on a complicated project with a schizophrenic client.

Oh, and I won a 10-speed bicycle in a raffle at a local grocery store in 7th grade.

In my household I am recognized as Supreme Grand Master of Led Zeppelin Trivia. In all other matters, my husband knows more than me about everything, and our two-year-old makes us both look like idiots.

I don't really like to talk about my awards, prizes, whatever. A few scholarships and GPA things here and there. A few spelling bees. Some academic gold medals from competitions. Last year when I was moving I found a 3rd place trophy in a box, I had no idea what it was from. Must have been pretty good if I was only 3rd place and I still got a trophy.

i won a free 12-oz coca-cola today...i guess that is a prize.

Come to think of it I don't know why I responded to this. I wish we had "delete" buttons. I have this strange compulsion to respond to every generic thread that gets posted nowadays. Amusing, all, but why? I win the award for most self-correcting...

I also got a gift certificate (which I used on architecture books) to the Boston MFA bookstore for having the best over all thesis project in my section.

I guessed the right amount of jellybeans in the jar at the bank and won a toy.

2nd place chess champ, 6th grade (this was a huge deal, the seniors knew about it)
1st place for my amazing picasso-esque marker drawings at the county fair (6 yrs old) $10 prize.
MVP high school volleyball, and best defensive player stats, best hit/error ratio on hitting and most kills.
regional (?) spelling bee (7th grade)
National Geographic regional geography bee 6th grade (I won a game and a beach ball that looks like a globe)
regional fiction writing contest (with the friend who is now an author) 7th grade
4th grade: (the only year I ever participated in a vote as such) - best dressed, smartest girl, three way tie for fastest runner, and something else I forget - I had 4 prizes.

Hmmm, I haven't really won anything since high school. I'll get right on fixing that.

OH! And I have won our local annual barkitecture contest (designing dog houses for the humane society) three times in a row. I think that one goes on my resume doesn't it? Rem would like that no doubt.

my partner and I made it to the finals at the REdesign Recycling Competition in Chicago. Now if we can only complete the prototype by the deadline. . .

I won the top design award in secondary school for spending an excesive time in the design / technology department making things. That was the good old days when, as a teenager, the naive creative juices flowed abundantly and I actually made the things I designed with my own hands.

in grade five I won a trophy and $10 for best English composition

A best of two ,shared 4'th price in a very famous architect competition about a town wanting new visions, all other than the this and the 5'th price was without computers, the 5'the was won by the best digital architect studio of the times in denmark, did I mention that a 4'the are better than a 5'th.
It was my drawings that won.
