Are there any specifications for green demo plans?
Are there:
- Standard notes about recycling materials
- Notes about separating out materials
- Ways to require certification that materials were recycled or properly disposed of
- Ways to minimize disturbance to the environment/neighbors?
We put everything in the specification and avoid having notes on the sheet unless we have a specific item we want re-used or recycled. If you don't have a project spec, then you can adapt the below specs to general or demo notes.
We based ours on the following links for recycling and for indoor air quality.
Both call for submittals of how the contractor will meet the requirements.
I would be careful how you adapt it, as your question seems to lead toward directing "means and methods" of construction, somewhere you really don't (or contractually can't) go. Stick to specifying the level of delivery you want and then require the contractor to tell you how they are going to do it.
