This spring visionary architect and 2011 MacArthur Fellow Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang Architects spoke as part of our Spring 2012 lecture series (see full lecture here). Prior to her talk she sat down for an interview with Woodbury School of Architecture graduate student Anali Gharakhani.
The two discussed the role of research and collaboration, as well as the inspiration Gang took from Mies, Aalto, and the humanities when she was a grad student at the GSD. On the role of women in architecture, Gang says, "sometimes being on the margin can help you see more clearly what architecture can be."
