Born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, I acquired an early love for art and design. Whether it stemmed from continuously taking apart and reassembling toys or witnessing, and eventually assisting, with the interior overhaul of my own home, I quickly took on a "designers eye".
My formal training was completed at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia where I recently obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design. While living there, I worked for a local firm specializing in both residential and commercial projects where I assisted with the procurement process and installations. I also had the opportunity to work with SCAD's Collaborative Learning Center and Cellular Sales on a re-branding project where the team was to create a unique image and experiential interior environment for the company.
I get inspiration from an abundance of sources whether it be from my own experiences and surroundings or from research. I strongly believes that research plays an important role in developing any form of design. When it comes to art and design, I believe there is always something new to learn. As a designer, we are forever students in this fast-paced and ever-changing world. We are continuously adapting and learning of new processes, techniques, materials and such so it is important to keep an open and somewhat playful mind. If one does not maintain that mindset, they will not be able to set themselves apart and succeed... besides, it keeps the mind young.
