I am a licensed architect with more than 22 years of experience in architecture and interior design.  I have demonstrated success in developing projects and leading teams on assignments ranging from large mixed-use buildings, commercial building renovations/re-positioning, and aviation, to small interior commercial spaces in all phases of technical design and construction administration. My experience also includes global projects with responsibilities in international short-term assignments, which encompassed on-site design solutions and supervision of local teams to ensure design intent and quality of project execution.



Gensler, Houston, TX, US, Associate

• Promoted to Associate and led the Houston Office Associates monthly meeting to establish office initiatives for mentoring younger staff and advancement of leadership goals that were communicated to the office Principals.
• Performed duties as a project architect and team leader on a Building Re-positioning project in downtown Houston, which included Lobby renovations in two connected building by bridges over a 5-block area.
• Coordinated Engineering consultants and Landscape design and coordination in all exterior spaces within scope on the Building Re-Positioning project.
• Lead the construction administration team through the execution of the downtown redevelopment project.
• Performed duties as a project architect and team leader on data center projects and a University project for their medical emergency team, which included training space and a helicopter hangar for the life-lift helicopter emergency deployment for the University Medical Center.

• Worked as a team member of the exterior wall team on the SFO terminal expansion and renovations, particularly coordination of exterior curtainwall detailing and implementation of expansion joints from exterior wall to interior joint enclosure details.
• Performed as project architect for a commercial office building lobby renovation, including all coordination with the client and engineering consultants, construction administration, and punchlists.
• Performed as team lead on commercial interior projects, including overseeing construction documentation and project permitting activities.

• Performed duties as a technical designer for commercial interior projects, which included space planning, material selections, construction documentation, development of specifications, and project permitting.
• Lead the Perkins & Will office relocation project from one San Francisco location to another within the city, including design, presenting to the office Principals, construction documentation, detailing, and office move coordination.

• Performed duties as an interior designer on commercial interior projects, including design and documentation through all phases of the design process, including construction administration.
• Performed duties on a short-term assignment in London, UK to ensure design quality control and provide punchlist documentation for a commercial office building within the London office’s scope of work.
• Performed design quality control for sport and recreation facility buildings in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for an 8-month assignment. The facilities were part of the overall University master plan, and I performed as part of a team assigned responsibilities for the construction oversight. Additional duties included, materials approvals and inspections, detailing, and on-site construction solutions.
• Performed duties on a 5-month short-term assignment as technical support for a hospital in Mumbai, India. I assisted the local team in Mumbai, which included drawings, detail coordination, and engineering coordination, along with construction inspection and materials approvals. Review of materials substitutions and material reselection was also within the scope of work throughout the construction process.

• Performed duties as a designer and working construction documents for the development of downtown redevelopment mixed-use mid-rise projects, which incorporated street level retail and residential units.
• Developed architectural specifications for building projects.
• Coordinated client needs, created a construction phasing plan, and executed construction documentation for religious structure renovations.

Urban Design Group - Chicago, Denver, Tulsa, Chicago, IL, US, Designer

• Performed duties as a team member and designer working on a suburban office building in Denver, CO, including space planning, building core solutions, and presentation drawings for client review. I also developed schematic design documents for approval that were approved to be handed off to the Colorado office for further development.
• Provided drawing and details for renovation work to GSA (General Services Administration) projects related to security scope and heightened building protection strategies after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
• Contributed to design competitions and proposals, including a competition package for a Technology Center for University of Michigan.

• Surveyed existing conditions for ADA compliance in buildings across the main University campus.
• Developed construction documents and details for renovations required to bring building in compliance with ADA guidelines.

Aug 2000 - May 2001

DeStefano + Partners, Chicago, IL, US, Intern Architect

• Performed as an intern architect in technical design developing space plans and construction documents on projects such as a downtown Telluride, CO mixed-use development project, which included a post office.
• Developed drawings and details for a high-end residential project, including calculating elevation height of the floor slabs on various levels on a sloped site.
• Performed as team member of a large mixed-use project in downtown Chicago, which included lower-level parking, street level retail, a movie theater, a hotel, and a residential tower. I also worked the exterior wall team to develop connection details and aesthetic exterior details. As a team member of this project, I also contributed to client presentation preparation with execution of presentation drawings and building models.

U.S. Army National Guard, Troy, KS, US, Specialist, Equipment Records & Parts Specialist

• Performed duties related to parts inventory and light mechanic work on vehicles assigned to the Unit.
• Provided instruction to members of the Battalion on safety and operation of the vehicles.
• Supported vehicle operation on convoys moving vehicles from the home base Armory to the annual 2-week training site location and back, including setting up remote fueling stations on training maneuver sites.
