Fill-in-the-Blanks Domesticity

Proposal for duplex in Elysian Valley, Los Angeles.  Composed of room-sized structures dispersed across the site.  Circulatory axes bind together the separate units, as opposed to adjacency.  Borrows from the shotgun house / enfilade.

The diptych provides an investigatory lens into the binary tensions embedded within contemporary domesticity.  The home has become the primary site of capitalist reproduction, while retaining the artifacts of post-war domesticity and urbanism.  This inversion will generate profound alternatives to how we design and utilize domestic spaces.  Design a duplex which simultaneously produces an image of contemporary domesticity and lends itself to many other narratives
