Lokum Miami

Lokum Miami is a Turkish restaurant located at the pulsing intersection of Lincoln and Alton roads in Miami Beach.

studio vural's design was inspired by an image of a traditional Turkish gulet - a two or three masted passenger ship - cruising along the shore at a tranquil sunset.

The dinning room is defined by warm colors radiating from the ceiling while cool Cuban tiles on the floor, evoking the constant interplay of blazing sun and the cool sea, which, the quintessential aura of the Turkish shores.

To create an intimate space in a room with 22' high ceiling, walnut light boxes were suspended over the space, creating an elegant landscape with red marine ropes; where the gulet sailboat comes alive.
