The concept for this house in the hills of Oakland is driven by it’s dramatic site context, environmental sensitivity and the incredible vistas of the San Francisco Bay. 

The building is stretched East to West to maximize the South facing exposure. The main entry evolves into a tunnel, stretched and stepped down from the entrance to the downhill terrace, and follows the natural grade.
