In this online lecture, Prof. Jo Berben will present the adaptive reuse approaches in the work of a2o architects, an award-winning Belgian firm with offices in Brussels and Hasselt. Research and experimentation lie at the root of their quest for collective added value, social engagement and sustainable concepts. Their work reflects engagement with the complex and layered contemporary reality, systematically searching for the latent qualities, opportunities or challenges of each assignment. To this end, they avoid getting trapped in generic solutions, trivial strategies or architectural arbitrariness. For more information, visit http://a2o.be/
