The USC School of Architecture is a design-led, professionally-focused, and socially-minded institution that is consistently in the top 10 most hired from schools of architecture in the United States (#2 in 2019, #7 in 2020 as per Design Intelligence). You can see what some of our recent alumni have been doing in our Alumni Diaries or Generation Next series. Our alumni and faculty include some of the most significant figures in contemporary architecture (including Frank Gehry, Thom Mayne, and Paul Revere Williams) and are truly making an impact in the design of the built environment. Our faculty are designing, building, and impacting the future with over 3500+ built projects, 900+ design honors, and 1200+ publications. (You can see more in our faculty highlight reel here).

Our Masters of Architecture (M.Arch) program offers a NAAB-certified professional degree in architecture that prepares students with disciplinary knowledge, professional expertise, and technological skills and is offered as a three-year program (M.Arch +3) for students with no prior professional education, and a two-year program (M.Arch +2)  with advanced standing for students with a four-year BS or BA degree in Architecture.

Additionally, this year we are launching our new Masters of Advanced Architectural Research Studies (M.AARS) program - a 12-month post-professional degree with two concentrations:

M.AARS City Design + Housing focuses on more inclusive and equitable city design and housing production. By claiming that housing is a right and that every individual should have the right to the city, the CDH program seeks to proactively engage research and design with current crises in urban development and housing provision – both locally and globally.

M.AARS Performative Design + Technologies

focuses on the integration of technology within the digital design process. Performative Design operates at the intersection of design, research, and analysis, through multi-objective design optimization. The PDT program seeks to explore the role of data and technology in the decarbonization of the built environment.

Both degrees are STEM-designated, offering international students the opportunity to stay in the United States for up to three years of professional training after completion of their studies through the US OPT (Optional Practical Training Extension) program.
