Eclectic thinking on architecture and capital is sorely needed as we face concurrent challenges of structural social inequities, economic and geographic segregation in urban areas, and a dearth of design policies aimed at ensuring that high-quality urban design and civic space is afforded to entire communities.
The symposium will afford the school with an interdisciplinary approach to developing new practices and pedagogies to infuse the ongoing discourse of democracy and capital into its teaching and research. It will explore hot topics such as: egalitarianism, democracy, capital(ism), income inequality, community investment, housing, planetary warming, technology and more.
