Rockefeller Partners Architects (rPA) was formed in 2003, uniting the diverse and complimentary experiences of Rocky Rockefeller, AIA and Christopher Kempel, AIA, NCARB. The partners’ unique backgrounds allow rPA to provide comprehensive architectural services, from conceptual design, strategic planning and rigorous documentation of the design to the administration of the construction process and post-occupancy evaluation.
rPA has earned a reputation, both individually and collectively, that is attained only after making an earnest commitment to their projects. While the firm has demonstrated an ability to manage large projects and expansive teams of consultants and contractors with respect to schedule, budget and product quality, they have also firmly established, and are especially interested in refining as well as defining, the smallest details wherein they believe the ultimate success of every project lies.
The partners and their team have managed many compelling projects to date. These projects include: highly detailed custom residential estates; historic adaptive reuse conversions as well as historic restorations of homes and commercial buildings; multifamily residential condos and apartments; complex critical services facilities; restaurants; and corporate interiors. The success of these projects lies in part with their collaborative spirit, that combines a commitment to the simple principles of architecture – balance, volume, symmetry, and simplicity – and a deep respect for exceptionally detailed craftsmanship wherein a combination of the sublime and artistically complex join with the pragmatic and functional aspects that architecture often demands when joined with contemporary technologies.
Since forming, rPA has not only completed a number of challenging projects but they have been recognized by several local and national organizations for their design as well as being published in many local, national and international publications such as Southbay Magazine, Westside Magazine, Coastal Living Details, Forbes Life, Sunset Magazine, Architectural Record, California Homes, Trends, Architecture Interieure – Cree (France), Villa e Case (Spain), and C3 (Korea).
