Water | More important than gold

As a first oversea Smithsonian institute, the project location is Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The pavilion proposal is approximately 4.5 acre inside of new museum building which is coordinate with Victoria and Albert Museum. The objective of this design proposal is to present meaningful Smithsonian’s collections that can represent America. With the objects from Smithsonian, this project is looking for a narrative from the object with the proposed design.

The pavilion space is designed with concept of Grand Canyon that fully expresses the beautiful nature in America. Through showing the layers on the façade of pavilion, layers represent the trace of water from the nature.
