Highly motivated and dedicated individual scheduled to graduate December 2017 from the Architecture program at Texas Tech University. Currently pursuing a certificate in Urban and Community Design. Completed Master of Business Administration in August 2016. Achieved excellent in all design and business oriented courses.
I hope to use my experience in architecture and business to help corrdinate design and balance all the parties needed to achieve a proposal. I am eager to learn and work alongside experienced professionals. Eventual career goals include becoming a fully licensed architect with a strong background in project management. Long-term career goals include assuming responsibility for large urban development and mixed-use projects.
Texas Tech University - Operations Division, Lubbock, TX, US, Student Intern
The Operations Division department I work under handles all architectural projects on campus under $2 million. As an intern I am fortunate to have experience with practice management, project management, planning, design, project development, construction, and evaluation. I help with rendering, drafting, producing construction documents, marketing, evaluating, surveying, and other tasks around the office. Project breadth includes new construction and renovations. Skills that make me a prime candidate as an aspiring architect are practical work experience alongside architects, engineers, and interior designers. I have highly developed graphic skills (both digital and analog) that allow me to deliver clear ideas and imagery. I pride myself on strong verbal and written communication skills that I developed over the course of my MBA. I understand direction, am not afraid to ask questions, and can communicate easily with whomever I am working with. Lastly, my knowledge of Revit, CAD, and other BIM software would allow me to effectively work alongside other team members. I plan to continue working diligently to get my license in less than two years after graduating.
