QNA is a curious international urban design and architectural practice, based in Innsbruck Austria. Specialized on complex urban conditions, QNA produces surprising but simple solutions.
The portfolio of the company encompasses all areas of design, from the urban scale to interior design. Of central concern to the practice is the simultaneous engagement in practice, teaching and urban research.
Paul Burgstaller founded QNA in 2016 after co-founding ‘bad’ in 2006 and working with offices like Behnisch & Partner, West8 and OMA Office for Metropolitan Architecture / Rem Koolhaas (Flick Collection - Berlin, Central Business District - Beijing, etc.) in Austria, Germany, and The Netherlands. In different collaborations Paul received numerous awards and participated in several exhibitions including the Architecture Biennale Rotterdam and the Architecture Triennale Oslo 2007.
He has given lectures and guest critics at various universities in Austria, Germany, and Turkey. From 2007 to 2011 he was a permanent lecturer on urban design at the UBT (University Education for Business and Technology) in Prishtina, Kosovo/a. From 2008 to 2012 he was lecturing at the Institute of Design and at the Chair for Architectural Theory, University of Innsbruck. Since 2016 he is again lecturing at the Institute of Design “What can artificial intelligence do for you?”.
