About

What aroused my fascination, which still remains today, is the possibility of expressing graphically, through the design process, an idea of space which, once realized, carries within itself the implicit potential to influence not only the urban and natural context where it finds application but also, in a practical sense, the quality of life and the actions that, thanks to the architectural sign, will emerge.

All the choices I made during my studies were aimed at storing knowledge and skills to be poured into architectural design.

My studies begin in a Technical Institute for Surveyors where a traditional training or design was carried out exclusively through technical drawing by hand. Later, thanks to one of the first courses on CAD that began to be held at my institute, I fully embraced the digital revolution that was beginning to take hold with difficulty.

After graduating, I was more convinced than ever that I would have liked to consolidate my partnership with design, deciding to attend the Faculty of Architecture in Cagliari and to continue with the specialization in “Architecture, Construction and City” at Politecnico di Torino . During these years I had the opportunity to develop several design exercises. Each project generated a sense of frustration, given the difficulty in transposing the compositional thought into a graphic sign that could be transmitted to others, to which I responded trying to master the software that from time to time could serve the cause. When  came the time to work on the thesis I thought I could give my contribution in the field of architectural composition trying to combine my interest in design with that of representation. With the thesis entitled “The Game of Nature - Morphogenetic Potentiality of Complex Systems combined with Heuristic Algorithms in a Parametric Environment” I tried to explore the creative capabilities of mathematical systems in architectural design. The aim was to look for an alternative to current practice, investigating the complexity of reality that requires a parametric approach. The rules able to describe the complex system were brought together in a single definition, the Algorithm of a cellular automaton. Using this method my attention has been turned not  much to the output, but to the construction of the process necessary for its achievement.

This study allowed me to follow a theme dear to me, the architectural composition, confirming my willingness to continue my professional path in this field.

In my career I have tried to push my limits to ever greater levels of difficulty. When I understood that the island environment did not offer the opportunities for growth that I wanted, I did not hesitate to move to Turin, where I was able to deal with a context open to the world, following half of the courses in English designed to integrate students from around the world, where I had to deal with varied skills and high level that have reinforced in me the desire to test myself and immerse myself in new challenges. No less after a work experience in Turin I decided to go further and look for work in Beijing where I moved to work for about 5 months, unfortunately afterwards I had to return to italy due to the pandemic and I continued to work remotely but the desire remains to continue my experience in the international context.
